My First Four Layer Cake by KunoichiVixen My First Four Layer Cake by KunoichiVixen
Someone mentioned this photo makes it look like a hat! I made this for a friend for his birthday.
Unfortunately I didn't get a clear shot of the inside of this gluten-free cake, but the top and bottom layers were chocolate brown and the two layers in the middle were pink and white so it was sort of a Neopolitan cake but without the Neopolitan flavours. The actual flavour was brandy vanilla. It didn't crumble when sliced and it all held together well which was a good thing since it was 11cm (4.3in) tall!

Hehe it really does look like a hat! A shame we don't get a peek at the inside as well . ^^ It looks so yummy, I just want to lick it!

It looks great. I'm sure it tastes awesome as well. Mmm... I'm jealous because I cannot bake! Hahha!

I couldn't bake one year ago, either, Hazelnut, so it's never too late to learn. =D
But of course, I'm not in a position to eat all the amazing foods you take photos of, so I have to create my own food adventures at home. ^^

This is inspiring to know. I'm trying to get ready to move and once my son and I are settled in, I will start learning how to bake bread and all the yummy cake I can think of. Thank you!

If you would like some easy recipes to get you started, I would be happy to share. My husband and I have a foolproof bread recipe a friend gave us so we could help with post-earthquake food donations. If your son is tactile, he might find it great fun to get his hands into the dough. My husband is over 30 and he loves it, heehee.

Hahaha! That's a given, I guess. Everyone enjoys working with their hands. That is very sweet of you to share recipes, thank you. I would need all the help I can get when it comes to baking and making bread.

Well, thank you! I couldn't believe that my hash job at decorating was mistaken for store-bought when I first presented it!
Gluten-free cakes are not very well known for rising much, so the thought was if I couldn't cause height I would just create it, although it turned out a fair bit taller than I expected having never stacked that many cakes before. A lot of fun to make. =)

I think the height works and for it being gluten free I'm impressed that you were able to achieve that
